Review Canning Rack System / Bernardin:This multi-use canning rack system turns any pot into a canning pot and facilitates many culinary tasks like blanching and sterilizing. Used with a large saucepan or stock pot, the racks lift and hold mason jars for easy insertion and removal of jars. The racks elevate the jars off the bottom of pot to prevent glass breakage. These racks have multiple wires to hold all jar sizes, including small jars which won't tip and fall through the rack when lifted. Also great for blanching, steaming, or boiling corn or lobster. Includes two stainless steel racks (a small one for 9½ - 10½" diameter pots and a large one for 11 - 12" diameter pots), a set of adjustable stainless steel lifters, instructions and tips.

Review Mason Jars - 1.5 L / Bernardin:These multi-use home canning mason jars have a traditional, rounded squarish shape for efficient shelf storage. Use for canning high acid foods, tomatoes, pickles, fruit, and for storage of dry ingredients like beans, coffee, and flour. 1. 5 litre/1½ quart capacity; wide 86 mm mouth. Pack of 12 mason jars and 12 2-piece lids (SNAP lids and screw bands). Screw bands can be reused, but SNAP lids are designed for one-time use only. For best results, fill hot jar with prepared recipes, leaving recommended headspace. Wipe jar rim and threads with a clean, damp cloth removing any stickiness. Center hot SNAP lid on jar. Apply screw band just until fingertip tight; do not overtighten. [+]After processing, remove jars from canner and set upright on a towel in a draft-free place. Do not retighten screw bands or check for seal while jars are hot. Cool processed jars upright, undisturbed for 24 hours. After 24 hours, check seals. Sealed lids curve downward and do not move when pressed. (Any unsealed jars should be reprocessed or refrigerated. ) For all sealed jars, remove screw bands; wipe and dry bands and jars. Store screw bands separately or replace loosely on jars, as desired.
