The base is made of 18/10 stainless steel brushed inside and out for a contemporary look. A clear, bubble-like top made of durable polycarbonate, angles jauntily and features a constellation of holes that strain out ice. A round stainless-steel cap press-fits over the strainer. Review WMF Loft Boston Shaker / WMF 06 1355 6030:Professional bartenders can put on quite a show with a two-part cocktail shaker, and now the home barkeep can too. WMF worked with leading German design firm Fiedeler & Raasch to create this Boston shaker for the Loft collection. The larger base unit is made of brushed 18/10 stainless steel, while the slightly smaller half is made of thick, durable glass and stores inside the metal half. Calibrations on the glass are in both metric and imperial. After ice, juice, and spirits are mixed, the shaker's two halves fit together and stay together by suction during shaking. A little twisting and pulling and the two halves come apart for pouring. The stainless-steel Loft strainer (available separately) comes into play at this point. When the party's over, the Boston shaker goes right into the dishwasher. -Ann Bieri.
